Difference Between A Micellar Water & Toner That Every Skincare Buff Should Know

Girls out there, raise your hands if you claim yourself to be a complete skin care freak and get worried with the sign of a minute pimple popping out in your face and start your own DIY hacks. Well, if you are a part of the crowd, then you must be vulnerable to a chain of experiments with new products. But sometimes, unknowingly we cause a lot of damage to our skin due to our frequent adoption of products without having a proper knowledge of what to use  when .One such confusing skincare practice is the use of micellar water and toner, what are their differences and how to use each let’s clear that up.

While both the micellar water and toner seem to be extremely similar whether in texture, consistency or use, both of their purpose in your skincare regime is extremely different.

Micellar water is a multipurpose cleaning product made up of purified water and small particles of cleansing oil called micelles . Their sole purpose is to free your skin from all the impurities and keep its natural goodness intact. So it’s a one stop solution that removes make up ( even the stubborn waterproof eye makeup),grease, oil, dirt and cleanses and tones your skin.

On the other hand, toner is that refreshing component for your skin which should be used just after you have cleansed your face .It contains more oxygen and hydrogen than water and skin loving ingredients like glycerine and antioxidants formulated in it. It works on maintaining pH level, shrinking pores, providing hydration. Many toners are filled with natural ingredients like aloevera, mint etc. that your skin is bound to fall in love with.

Should I Use Micellar Water or Toner?

Well, if you are thinking of choosing between one of them for your skincare, then you are not on the right path dear.

If Micellar water marks the prologue to your skincare regime, toner is the epilogue. Well in simpler words, your beauty regime should follow the golden rule of starting all the way with cleansing with micellar water followed by the application of a face wash, and then go ahead with a toner.

Hence the bottom line is micellar water and toners are not designed to meet the same purpose. The  truth is that they do exist two separate skincare entities and for very important reasons. So be smart and use them wisely.
