Delhi is often identified as the paradise of Indian foodies and the reason stands quite justified. It is indeed the hotspot for all kinds of cuisines. From the lip-smacking culinary treats of the North to the extensive rich continental varieties, you have it all in the Capital City. And when it comes to the South Indian cuisines, Delhi does not fall behind. Thanks to the awesome food from the kitchens of Sagar Ratna, a food chain that has been establishing the vegetarian Southern delicacies right here in the Northern Capital City.
While I had heard about this food joint quite a number of times, a recent visit to it confirmed that all the good reputation was indeed true. Sagar Ratna has been extensively spreading its branches all over Delhi and beyond and incredibly the credits go to their tastes.
I happened to visit the Mathura branch of Sagar Ratna, right next to the Mohan Estate Metro Station. Sagar Ratna holds a serene ambience worth cherishing for family visits and friendly hang outs. They also hold accommodation provisions for small birthday parties as well as kitty party hang outs. With the soothing music in the background and authentic South Indian dishes on your table you are sure to lick start a great luncheon or dining journey.
We started with the Madrasi cafe followed by the South Indian Dahi Vada, the super delicious vadas loaded with curd and dipped in tamaring chutney with some Sev instantly reminded us of the South Indian styles of Dahi vadas. There was not an inch of compromise on the flavors and undoubtetdly we had a luxurious time binging on the super soft and yummilicious vadas.
Next came the Ghee Roast Dosa, that was super crispy and every bite exuded the authentic aroma of ghee. The sambar, coconut, onion and mint chutney were the accompaniments with this lovely delicious dosa. Oozing with tastes, the Ghee Roast Dosa has surely become one of my favourites.
And finally we moved on to the grand foodie journey with the South Indian grand thaali that welcomed a potpourri of delicacies. Beginning from rice, sambar, rasam, Bhindi curry, hung curd, Appalam, pickle and kesari Rava as the dessert, no wonder it turned out to be a perfect grand dinner for us.
The best part of Sagar Ragna is that they are not limited to only South Indian cuisines but also welcomes Chinese and Italian dishes for its visitors. So my dear veggie or non-veggie friends, get ready to satiate your appetites with delights from Sagar Ratna, the perfect economic destination for your lunch or dinner sessions.
