Celebrate the Joys of Motherhood With The Story of an Iconic Inspiring Working Mom

Today is Mother’s Day and the entire social media, press is going crazy about spreading the beautiful, heart touching wishes and messages for our dear moms. But a single day is never enough to celebrate the endless love, contribution and sacrifices of a mother. This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the spirit of all those mothers who have inspired and is still motivating thousands of mothers as a constant source of encouragement. We were lucky to come across Dr.Harinder Arya (Mrs.Seema Arya) who has not only established herself as a successful foundress of one of the hugest Cosmetics Institute but also is a great mother to two brilliant children, inspiring and motivating them in all walks of life.

dr.harinder arya

Institute of Natural and Modern Cosmetech, the brainchild of Dr.Harinder Arya and her husband Mr.Shyam Arya is one of the leading Institutes in Cosmetics Training. Since 1995, this Institute has not only been a source of training multiple minds but also an enhancing source of employment for several deprived yet deserving women. Managing the responsibilities of such a colossal institute as well as addressing the needs of her children must not have been an easy task and yet she still remains a confident, strong-hearted woman with a shining smile on her face that becomes a motivating factor for all working mothers like us. Here is a snippet of an interaction with this beautiful, hardworking woman and we can vouch that her journey will inspire thousands of mothers.

Social Connoisseurs: What Made You Initially Think of Starting An Institute Dedicated To Training of Cosmetics?

Dr.Arya: We have been receiving constant queries on the making of cosmetics and there have been quite limited sources who actually could give hands on training in this sphere. Institute of Natural and Modern Cosmetech had been created as a platform to cater to those individuals who had enough talent but lacked proper guidance and mentorship to venture into an entrepreneurial journey.

Social Connoisseurs: How did The Institute cater to the common people?

Dr. Arya: Several people who walked in from remote areas did not have a training partner who could channelize them to the correct path of opening up their independent businesses. The Institute reached out to these people as the true hands of a mentor and made their ways from zero to inspiring paths of upliftment. When the Factory was opened up at Shoghi,  Shimla, maximum number of women were recruited who had gone through the tough phases of life. The Institute and the Factory reached out to them as a new mode of hope for living their life once again.

dr,harinder arya 1

Social Connoisseurs: Wasn’t it difficult to manage two kids and such a huge responsibility simultaneously?

Dr. Arya: It definitely was! I often used to get late from work and devote less time to household chores. But I could execute my journey successfully and patiently only because of the presence of some beautiful people in my life. Beginning from my husband, my mother-in-law as well as my kids everyone can be credited for paving my way towards success.

Social Connoisseurs: As A Mother and a Woman, who has been Your Role Model?

Dr. Arya: My mother-in-law has been the role model in my life. Despite being an arthritis patient and a sufferer of several physical disturbances, her spirits did not bow down ever in her life. Her patience, constant hard-working nature have been truly inspiring and things that I can look upto throughout my life. Indeed she was always full of life that shaped my confidence and spirit in a huge way.

dr.arya

My husband has also equally been the pillar of support without whom strategizing a venture like this would have been an impossible dream.

Social Connoisseurs: What was the role of your sons in shaping your career? Wasn’t it a difficult task to take care of twins as well as manage a huge entrepreneurial task?

Dr. Arya: My sons have been extremely co-operative in my ongoing journey of motherhood. Ever since the age of 6 months, when children hardly realize anything, they were quite patient and understanding. They realized their own responsibilities and are extremely respectful towards their mother’s career. As a result, they took care of their studies by themselves and also became extremely self-sufficient. At an age when children rely on their mothers for everything, they learnt how to serve their own food and manage their day to day needs. Without their co-operation I wouldn’t have been able to continue my dream.

dr.arya...

Social Connoisseurs: This Mother’s Day What is Your Message Towards All Mothers?

Dr. Arya: The first thing that I would like to remark is that Don’t treat your children as toys. If you allow them to swim, they can And they will learn to swim through their own difficulties. Don’t keep yourselves constricted to the role of shaping only your childrens’ future as nowhere it is written that a mother does not have the right to live her own dreams. You may not be the only sufferer of problems, in fact when you step out into the broader world, you would find there are people with more challenging difficulties. The world of your existence gets broader and your problems becomes smaller as compared to others. Uplift yourselves in the process of uplifting your children.

When we have such motivating mothers like Dr. Harinder Arya and such a great supportive family like hers, undoubtedly conquering our dreams is no longer a distant dream but a possible mission. Moreover a mother’s love may come in many forms. The role of Dr. Arya’s motherhood is not only limited to her children but also to hundreds of women and trainees who have discovered their paths of life through her mentorship. Thank you Dr. Arya for being the limelight of thousands of mothers.

The glitz and glamour was further punched in with Pooja Peshoia’s novel collection. irw11

The best part of IRW 17 is that every design shared a unique touch to it through the stream of thought which backs it and Clotho was not a deviation. The best part was that Clotho desired to portray the collection as an extension of the feminine identity, not as a trend but as an intrinsic characteristic of herself. Thus it amalgamates its designs with the lotus in its multiple forms, that forms a predominant part in Tribana Padma’s collection, dealing with the ‘chakras’ and the several forms of feminine mysticism.

Egyptian themes and pastels also ruled the ramp through the collection hands of Delhi based Designer- Ankur jAmun-Ra (hidden light) as the name is popularly known as was the vibrant mix of 5D Egyptian beetles as well as Egyptian Gods. Oomph and chutzspah are the features that this designer collection bestows with. With the collection, he raised the message of “Help Egypt Help an Heritage”.

Actress Mugdha Godse, the stunning Diva walked the ramp for her.

Coming to the most exotic part of the show was definitely Akassh Aggarwal’s Subhasini Ornamentals. Akassh Aggarwal has always been known as a familiar face when in comes to jewellery with a thematic punch. All his designs unmask the several shades of the contemporary woman along with a touch of tradition. Last Season of Subbhashini Ornamentals had the Diva touch with the evergreen style icon Zeenat Aman as the showstopper.

This year too Akkash Aggarwal’s show was not an exception from its thematic excellence. “Tribe Vibes Collectives”, Bohemian Self Love was the thematic innovation. The World has always identified woman as “The Second Sex” reminiscent of Simone De Beauvoir or the weaker gender. In this male dominated and women undermined opinion, Akassh K. Aggarwal’s collection pays a tribute to all those women who live their lives on their own terms, unopinionated, independent and rebellious. Pearls,  corals on embossed and 3D Metallic Gold and Silver were the show-stealers. The Show with all its well-suited demanding music and the gorgeous Swara BHaskar walking down the ramp made it an episode to remember.

India RunWay Week 2017 Summer Dedicated To Weavers’ Craftsmanship

India Runway Week has always been a home to multiple new talents, fresh designers and fresh talents. Amalgamating cultures and reflecting them through the stream of fashion is something India Runway Week always holds to its credits.

Time to witness this charismatic explosion of fashion through the captivating work of weavers this time at India Runway Week starting from the 28’th of April.

It would seem that no matter how big the India Runway Week gets, there you will always find fresh new names. Of course, the old designers continue every season. This is the 8th season of India Runway Week which is starting from 28th of April.

The weavers of India are its biggest assets. Indian hand woven fabrics have been known since time immemorial. India was famous even in ancient times as an exporter of textiles to most parts of the civilized world but throughout history and currently too there are evidences that show that weavers have always been a victim of a staunch hierarchical system. Being at the bottom of the system they fall prey to the extreme forms of exploitation.

There are organizations that are identified as a promising means of raising voice for them and generating livelihood for hundreds of rural artisans. They have made a significant contribution to the lives of the women artisans working with it, which has helped improve their economic as well as social status.

They strive to bring the traditions of India to customers all around the world with its unique creations and products. It not only helps its artisans become wage earners, but also spreads awareness about the traditional crafts of the region, thus helping preserve a rich part of India’s national cultural heritage. Indian Federation for fashion Development have joined hand with four of these organizations i.e Rangsutra, SoCHE, Banka Silk and Gestures by Kriti who will present the work of artisans at current season of India Runway Week Summer 2017 ramp which is starting from 28th of April to 30th of April 2017

“The purpose of this show is to raise the current conditions of the weavers and to propose the importance of such organizations and social security to the custodians of this ageless art.” Said by Fashion director, Kiran Kheva, India Runway Week

Rangsutra is a craft company of thousand artisans from remote regions of India – the desert regions of Rajasthan and plains of Eastern Uttar Pradesh whereas SoCHE is reviving this languishing and less popular hand embroidery practiced by women around the border areas of Barmer. Banka Silk on other hand is imparting the required skills to the weaver’s community of Banka, connecting them with the markets and helps create an Eco-system wherein the weaver’s community can become self-sustainable. And lastly Gestures by Kriti is a livelihood support and outreach initiative that began in 1999, to promote ethical, sustainable and socially conscious thinking & buying of ‘community made’ products.

So get ready for the fashion dose in the upcoming weekend. Stay tuned to Social Connoisseurs For All India Runway Week updates.

Jharcraft (Jharkhand Silk Textile and Handicraft Development Corporation Ltd) conceived the fashion event with an objective to put spotlight on to the exquisite and organic fabrics handcrafted by craftspersons of the state.

Union Minister for Textiles Smt Smriti Irani also paid a visit to the Jharcraft pavilion and took a close look at the handloom collection. She also discussed the initiatives being undertaken to help artisans from the state to achieve better market access and improve their livelihood.

Tussar Silk, a special silk variety produced in eastern and central India, primarily in Jharkhand, was the special focus of the collection. India is the second largest producer of Tussar silk and the exclusive producer of Indian Tussar (also known as tropical tussar). In recent years, Jharkhand state has emerged as the largest producer of Tussar silk in the country.

The artisans producing the silk are largely poor tribals from Jharkhand state. In its quest to improve sources of livelihood for these artisans, Jharcraft works to promote their work and take it to national and international platforms.

_DSC6590 new

“These silks are a deep manifestation of the tribal arts and crafts of the region and reflect the well-springs of creativity endowed with the ethnic communities of Jharkhand. Recognizing it as a source of income, the artisans of the state have in recent years further cultivated and enhanced their skills as well as variety of products. Jharkhand is today the leading producer of Tussar silk which is attracting much attention, especially among the discerning fabric lovers. By associating with such an event and showcasing Tussar silk and garments made of other handlooms of Jharkhand, our attempt is to take ours fabrics and handlooms to international markets,” said K Ravi Kumar, Managing Director, Jharcraft.

Tussar silk is made from silkworms. Some varieties produced in Jharkhand is also known as ‘Ahimsa’ silk because unlike the traditional process, this process allows silkworms to leave the cocoons before the cocoons are soaked in boiling water and reeled. The use of 100% natural dyes made from tree bark, vegetables, wild grasses and flowers ensure purely organic silk.

With such vibrant hues explored at one of the top-notch Fashion Shows of India, Jharkhand once again reinstated its repute as the finest producer of Tussar Silks.

Vibrant Mrs.Delhi/NCR: A Salute to Womanhood in The Truest Sense

vb3The platform of fashion has been redefining standards in recent times. There was once a time when fashionistas had to sacrifice their dreams just because of their marital as well as as motherhood status. However beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder and this notion has been exemplified by most of the beauty pageants of the world. One such event was surely Mrs. Delhi/NCR, an initiative organised by the Directors of the Vibrant Concepts, Ginny Kapoor and Gagandeep Kapoor.

Just like their name Vibrant Concepts, they truly lived up to their names’ worth. With vibrant ideas like these, Vibrant Mrs. Delhi/NCR  2016 became a platform through which many married women could walk out of their domestic barriers and relive their independent identities. The evening sparked off with glitz and glamour with the presence of identities like Sarhaan Singh (TV actor), Sylvie Rodgers (Hair stylist), Shankar Sahney (singer), Dr. Varun Katyal (Nutritionist) and Katrina (Miss Ukraine) who were present as members of the honorable jury. The entire evening shimmered with style and fashion in The Ocean Pearl Retreat of Chattarpur.

The 2nd edition however stole the show wherein special children made the audience spellbound with their awe-inspiring performances. In fact the entire audience roared with thunderous applause seeing the little minds and hands giving birth to such breathtaking performances.

vb1This entire platform proved out to be an outlet of passion and proving your worth in the truest sense. With music, dance and the divas walking the ramp in elegant sarees, the entire show turned out to be a token of sheer success. Twelve vibrant ladies were chosen for the Western Round and finally it was Preeti Joshi and Arti Sachdeva who could bag the honorable titles of Vibrant Mrs. Delhi/NCR 2016. The entire evening indeed stood out to be an exceptionally memorable one with the presence of several renowned socialites like Meenakshi Dutt, Umesh Dutt, Jaspreet Singh, Rajiv Gupta, Roshni Thakur, Mann Dua etc.

Words From the Masterminds

In this regard a word from the director of Vibrant Mrs.Delhi/NCR was important since such an initiative can only be successful when the minds behind it are truly genius.

As Ginny Kapoor said “” Life doesn’t end for a woman when she gets married. In fact, there is a whole world waiting to be discovered. I am happy to be a part of this initiative which celebrates a woman’s success and achievements with the whole world. We believe that they should be recognized for their ability to integrate intellect, homemaking skills and beauty. Our focus is also on cultural identity and pride in womanhood as exemplified by well known personalities in the field of corporate and public life.”

With these words as inspiration, we wish that in the following years we have more such events like Vibrant Mrs.Delhi/NCR. Power to Vibrant Concepts, More Power to Womanhood.
