5 Real Life Lessons That Made In Heaven Makes Us Contemplate on

Amazon Prime has been grabbing all the attention now when it comes to the New Gen Indian audience. While at one point, Indian viewers had no other alternatives rather than to rely on Netflix for some great original content, Amazon Prime has gradually grabbed all the limelight. With some successful series of lined up contents like Breathless, Mirzapur, Four More Shots etc. the Indian section of audience, not relying on the Saas Bahu daily soaps has finally achieved something truly satisfying their modern appetites for entertainment. And recently out of this Entertainment Pandora’s Box, released one of the most anticipated series by Zoya Akhtar “Made in Heaven”.

The “Gully Boy” fame director has been winning all the applause for her incredible direction in various films and “Made in Heaven” definitely adds a feather to her success crown. While most of the audience has accepted this recently released web series with a broad outlook considering how it mirrors the real turbulences in marriages, many of them have also criticised it for its explicit & wild depiction of sex, use of raunchy dialogues and definitely unusually abusive vocabulary. However for me, ‘Made in Heaven’ stands out to be another realistic sketches by Zoya Akhtar of the so-called polished and successful marriages that seem to be made in heaven but are actually grounded on harsh human reality.
The story has a setting of South Delhi where Tara and Karan are running a successful wedding planning organization, “Made In Heaven”. Karan belongs to an ordinary middle-class family while Tara Khanna is married to one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the country, Mr. Adil Khanna. However, both of them are trying to invest on their own dreams and curate a successful business with their venture of Made in Heaven. This 9 episode web series deals with several subplots with the main plot of Tara, Karan, Adil and Faiza{ Tara’s best friend and Adil’s secret extra-marital alliance} running parallel with full force.
The best part of this entire web series is how beautifully Zoya Akhtar pronounces the nuances of the apparently perfect marriages that are established in the urban strata of the South Delhi society. Every episode deals with a particular negative tone that are usually present in all the metropolitan based weddings, but take a backseat amidst the glitz, glamour and wealth spent on the ceremony.
Elaborating much on the plot might deviate you from the main subject. For me, “Made in Heaven” is more than an ordinary web series as helps you to contemplate on several issues in real life. I would love to take this as a story that leaves you behind with a number of lessons to consider.

Karma Never Lets Anyone Escape

made in heaven lessons

The foremost and perhaps the most important lesson that Zoya wants to portray is how Karma takes its course. Whoever you are, whatever you might have achieved in life, Karma won’t let you go from its vicious circle. So when Tara’s husband cheats upon her, we cannot let go off the fact that how Tara had earlier seduced Adil into a marriage by breaking his prospective engagement. Similarly Karan gets back his results of embarrassing his gay partner Nawab years later when he himself gets arrested for his homosexual relationships and atrociously abashed by the public, media and surely the police. The bottom line remains nobody gets exempted from Karma’s rules.

Your Soulmate Might Not Necessarily Be Your Romancing Partner

made in heaven

While we always tend to identify our husband or wife as our real soulmate, sometimes true friendship might lie outside romance, as portrayed by the beautiful equation shared by Tara and Karan. While they are business partners, professionally involved in “Made in Heaven”, simultaneously they stand out to be each other’s’ soulmates without pronouncing the strong bonding shared between them explicitly. Karan rushes to Tara’s help when her husband Adil meets with an accident and his extra-marital involvement gets revealed and Tara hurries to Karan’s assistance when he gets arrested. In fact, these two have remained together through every thick and thin. Their chemistry is not limited to the fine barriers of a love relationship or just a professional alliance. They count on each other blindly for every sort of support, financially, psychologically or even physically. The mere presence of each other for each other validates their solid chemistry.

Never Forget Your Roots

madeinheavenPic Credits: express.co.uk

Zoya Akhtar maintains the fine art of subtlety while addressing some of the major realities of life. Taara might be married to one of the best blue-blooded families in Delhi and initially she gets lost in the polished tones of the urban society where she wins all the fame and success with her husband’s wealth but unfortunately there isn’t any happiness. However as the series moves on, Taara’s lost happiness is discovered in the teenage lanes of Purani Dilli where she used to enjoy her delicious, unhygienic golgappas, get herself groomed in the grooming classes and finally her sister’s home where there might be little wealth but there is never-ending happiness in the petty things of life.

Never Be Guilty of Your Identity

madeinheaven..

Pic credits: Dailyexpress
This might seem to be quite an unrealistic lesson but the truth lies in the fact that that if you do not respect your choices, nobody will. Karan could have easily surrendered to the injustice and unethical invasion of privacy by his landlord. However he returned to the same house abiding by the terms of the legal agreement and confronted the situation with complete honesty. He had realised the intensity of the mistake he had committed in his childhood. He accepted that he was a gay not only in front of his family and the entire media but also started spreading the word about gay rights among his fellow listeners. Had he obliged to the wrong that the society has done to him, the same conditions would have followed that happened with his landlord.

Nothing is Above and Beyond Wealth

One of the best ways of Zoya Akhtar’s attack against this shallow society is the fine art of irony she executes throughout. While Taara’s husband claims to love her blindly{which definitely isn’t true considering the kind of extra-marital relationship he shares}, he remains extremely professional and materialistic when it comes to the monetary profits and loss ratios of “Made in Heaven” where he had invested. You might call it core professionalism, but at the same time, it’s quite hard to accept a man who wildly makes love to his wife at night, puzzling her the next morning with his series of questionnaires regarding “Made in Heaven’s performance charts.
Apart from these lessons, every episode is an endeavor of Zoya to chart out the vicissitudes of Indian marriage where there is glitz and glamour along with unending chains of hypocrisy and greed. There resides a fine juxtaposition of contradictory traits throughout every episode. Where there is love, there is greed, where there is trust, there’s betrayal and the chain goes on. While Made in Heaven remains to be one of our best web series, we are eagerly waiting for the genius Akhtar to bring on the sequel to the masterpiece soon.

The magic of her voice not only lies in her ability to create a melodious magic from every song but also to recreate beautiful mash-ups that very few people can ever even think of.

Singing has been an inherent talent within her since long and undertaking classical music sessions since the age of 10 made it go strong.

Coming from a Muslim conservative background, their journey had not been a smooth bed of roses. In fact, it was solely their parents’ support that guided them to tread on their path of passion without facing much hurdles.

The recently happened India Runway Week 2017 edition was a true treat to all fashionistas of Delhi with a potpourri of fashion shades from multiple designers with hands on portrayal of multiple fashion traits.

irw10

We have already poured you with fashion feeds from India Runway Week Day 1 and 2. And now we are back with the finale of the IRW 2017 summer edition deets.

The First grand bite of the event unraveled itself with the amazing collections from the creative home of Suprachi were indeed a treat to the eyes. With dramatic hues, refined and sophisticated pastels over silhouettes and the predominance of silk as well as cotton threads, the pieces were stunning and ravishingly gorgeous. Suprachi boasts of a collection that amalgamates grace, poise and elegance with the most vibrant shades.

Anshita Garg’s collection was a perfect friend to the scorching summers. With comfort clothing as the theme in vogue, this magnificent collection was cool, modish and easy. Premium clothing assortments like zari and beads were complemented by light materials like linen as well as Maheshwari silk.

The glitz and glamour was further punched in with Pooja Peshoia’s novel collection. The muse to this awe-inspiring collection that blends in itself the streams of both traditional and contemporary thought, was the natural reflections which illuminate the ocean’s surface. The collection was synonymous to perfection. With a lavish showcase of beautiful gorgeous lehengas, sarees as well as crop tops clubbed with elegant, graceful skirts and jackets, the collection displayed the identity of the  modern women of the present times. The ensembles were made of sheer organza, tulle, silks and satins.

irw11

The best part of IRW 17 is that every design shared a unique touch to it through the stream of thought which backs it and Clotho was not a deviation. The best part was that Clotho desired to portray the collection as an extension of the feminine identity, not as a trend but as an intrinsic characteristic of herself. Thus it amalgamates its designs with the lotus in its multiple forms, that forms a predominant part in Tribana Padma’s collection, dealing with the ‘chakras’ and the several forms of feminine mysticism.

Egyptian themes and pastels also ruled the ramp through the collection hands of Delhi based Designer- Ankur jAmun-Ra (hidden light) as the name is popularly known as was the vibrant mix of 5D Egyptian beetles as well as Egyptian Gods. Oomph and chutzspah are the features that this designer collection bestows with. With the collection, he raised the message of “Help Egypt Help an Heritage”.

White, yellows and golden shimmers dominated the ramp with the elegant collection ‘Nazakat’ ,RIDHANSH by Sonia Gaba.

The Priyamvada Couture was inspired to showcase the woen of today, the contemporary, independent women who are bold and speak their indepent words of fashion. The collection was exclusively curated keeping in mind the women of today who are confident and define their fashion statements by their own. With The Indian Ethnicity as the predominant theme, there were gorgeous combinations of divine embroideries, stylish, flowery cuts with elegance being the finest finish.”Being a part of a lady on her special day is what motivates me and through my outfit I want her to feel like a queen” says Priyamvada Goel. Actress Mugdha Godse, the stunning Diva walked the ramp for her.

Coming to the most exotic part of the show was definitely Akassh Aggarwal’s Subhasini Ornamentals. Akassh Aggarwal has always been known as a familiar face when in comes to jewellery with a thematic punch. All his designs unmask the several shades of the contemporary woman along with a touch of tradition. Last Season of Subbhashini Ornamentals had the Diva touch with the evergreen style icon Zeenat Aman as the showstopper.

irw3irw4irw9

This year too Akkash Aggarwal’s show was not an exception from its thematic excellence. “Tribe Vibes Collectives”, Bohemian Self Love was the thematic innovation. The World has always identified woman as “The Second Sex” reminiscent of Simone De Beauvoir or the weaker gender. In this male dominated and women undermined opinion, Akassh K. Aggarwal’s collection pays a tribute to all those women who live their lives on their own terms, unopinionated, independent and rebellious. Pearls,  corals on embossed and 3D Metallic Gold and Silver were the show-stealers. The Show with all its well-suited demanding music and the gorgeous Swara BHaskar walking down the ramp made it an episode to remember.

Ritambhara Image 3Ritambhara Image 5

Ritambhara Paliya’s collections were contributions that reinforced the Indian ethnic flavors with gorgeous, vibrant colors. Maxi dresses, along with lehengas, anarkalis with rich fabrics and the most elegant, stylish designs that spoke of queenly flavors were a perfect epilogue to the final day of IRW 2017. Bollywood diva Shamita Shetty walked the ramp flaunting the divine, rich collections from Ritambhara Paliya.

The finest and grandest end that the India Runway Week 2017 could witness was definitely through Kristy De Cunha. The Gol Gol Rani Freddie Mercury lived up to its name catering to both men and womens’ tastes, for both the geeky, intelligent and the fashion changers.

India Runway Week 2017 was undoubtedly a fashion treat to All fashionistas and we are in eager anticipation for the next season to strike in.

  • Old Basic Techniques are Always the Root Foundations – Old is always gold and one cannot deny that there are few basic techniques that you have to follow throughout.  The new age rules may help you to reach near your goal but will not help you in the long run and that is what Geeta Phogat’s tutorial sessions take us through.

You cannot overlook your parents – Parents have more life experience than us. So when they counter your decisions or restrain us from doing something we should consider it. Otherwise the consequences are quite evident.

Set a strategy and plan – You always need a mentor who will guide you in the right direction. You cannot just go with the flow and reach your goal. So in the beginning you have to make a good strategy and be calm so that when the opponent makes a mistake you can take the advantage. You have to make different strategies for every game just like Geeta Phogat was directed by her father for each and every different points.
